As everyone knows, the demand for dairy as a source of nutrition is slowly but surely disappearing in North America and it would only be a matter of time before it extends into baby nutrition. One of the companies that has been doing stellar work in that regard is ELSE Nutrition Holdings Inc (CVE:BABY) (OTC: BABYF). The company is involved in manufacturing entirely plant-based baby nutrition products and these products are an excellent alternative to anything that dairy has on offer.
For as long as the baby nutrition industry has existed, cow milk protein has been the basis of the products. However, ELSE is now looking at a market that could be worth as much as $83 billion and it has the products that could help it in dominating it. The products made by ELSE are 100% plant-based and do not use soy in any way, shape or form. In addition to that, the products are free of gluten and hormones as well. The plants are non-GMO in nature and that is without a doubt, an excellent attribute for a conscious consumer base.
Last but not least, the products taste great and that is ultimately going to be the main factor for babies.
The stock is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and after it was listed back in June, the stock managed to get a rousing welcome from investors. The company, which is based out of Israel, got listed as a 2nd Tier technology company and on its first day of trading, the shares soared by as much as 176%. At the time, the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Hamutal Yitzhak said: “We are thrilled by the warm welcome we have received from the market and investment community.” It was an event that proved that the stock markets in Canada were ready for the listing of a company that is going to bring a completely new product to North America. The excitement with regards to the product is understandable.
Plant-based baby nutrition is a completely new concept in North America and hence, the entry of ELSE into the market is a major deal for the area. It also opens up the opportunity for the company to grow steadily in a market that could prove to be highly lucrative in the long run. The materials used to make this plant-based baby formula are primarily buckwheat and almonds. Almonds are rich in protein and makeup one of the most important constituents of the product. A market research firm has also pointed out that the baby food and nutrition market could grow into a $120 billion market by 2025. If that happens, then ELSE should certainly hope to find itself as one of the biggest players in the market.
